Gifts for little JJ Ackles

I know, it’s a new baby, and everyone wants to immediately buy out their local Babies R Us and flood Vancouver with presents. I’m pretty damn sure that kiddo is already well-covered on that front. (And, honestly, as fans… shipping them presents would be crossing a line. There’s a boundary there.)

So, if you REALLY want to do something good, SPN fandom…

• Buy all the baby clothes/toys you want, and donate them to women and children’s shelters, in her honor.
• Find a charity that @DanneelHarris has close to her heart, and send a donation to them in her honor. (In this case, it’s hatsoffforcancer.org, and you can donate at this website.)
• Crafty? Make knit baby blankets and caps. Fleece baby blankets work too. Donate them your local NICU in her honor.
• On NICUs, preemie clothes can be hard to come by. Go nuts buying clothes for preemies, and donate them to a NICU in her honor.
• Find a local community outreach group (without a political or religious agenda) that serves poor moms and kids. Donate clothes, toys, food, or money.
• Do you know any new moms/dads? Find time for you to come over and let them sleep while you watch the baby. Bonus points if you clean up for them, too.
• Buy flowers in her honor, and send them to a postpartum unit. Have them given to a mom who may be alone or having tough times.

So there you go. That little girl already has everything she could possibly need, but there are many out there who don’t. So why not give to the ones who are in need, so you’re doing a good deed in her name? Sounds like a pretty awesome present to me.
